In a historic ceremony officiated by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, IPS Arun Mohan Joshi, aged 40 and a member of the 2006 batch, has assumed the prestigious role of Inspector General of Police (IG), becoming the youngest officer to hold this position in India.
Taking charge from his predecessor, IPS officer Gaurav Rajput, who assumed the IG position at the age of 41, Joshi brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His previous assignments include serving as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Dehradun, where he made significant contributions to maintaining law and order in the region.
A trailblazer in his field, Joshi had already made headlines earlier in his career when he became one of the youngest IPS officers in the country at the age of 23. His dedication and exemplary service have earned him accolades and recognition, setting a benchmark for aspiring officers in the police force.
Joshi’s commendable journey includes serving as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Vigilance and DIG of the Provincial Armed Constabulary/Anti-Terrorist Cell (PAC/ATC) in Uttarakhand. His diverse experience showcases his commitment to upholding the principles of justice, security, and public safety.
As he takes on the responsibilities of his new role, Joshi’s dynamic leadership is expected to bring fresh perspectives and innovative strategies to address the evolving challenges in law enforcement.
