NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower public sector undertaking, has signed a MoU with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL), the power generation company under the Government of Rajasthan, to jointly develop Pumped Storage and other Renewable Energy Projects in the state.
Under the agreement, two Pumped Storage Projects (PSPs) of 1,000 MW capacity each are being considered for development in the first phase. These projects aim to strengthen grid stability and boost the integration of renewable energy into the power system.
The MoU was signed by Shri Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical), NHPC, and Shri Devendra Shringi, Chairman and Managing Director, RVUNL, in the presence of Smt Arti Dogra, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) and Chairman (Discoms), Government of Rajasthan. Also present were the Executive Director (Strategy, Business Development & Consultancy), NHPC, and other senior officials from NHPC and the Government of Rajasthan.
