An awards distribution ceremony was organized, during the inaugural wherein award winners of the India Smart Cities Awards Contest (ISAC) 2020 were felicitated. Although these awards were earlier announced through the virtual conference in 2021, but distribution ceremony was postponed due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Surat and Indore received awards as Best City. Uttar Pradesh shined as the Best State. Ahmedabad, Varanasi, and Ranchi won Smart Cities Leadership Award. Vadodara bagged an award for GIS mapping, Thane for Digi Thane, and Bhubaneswar for the ME app. Tumakuru won the award for Digital Library Solution, Tirupati for Health Benchmark for Municipal Schools, and Bhubaneshwar for Socially Smart Bhubaneswar.
Project Awards: Indore and Chandigarh were the joint winners in the Culture category wherein Indore bagged an award for Conservation of Heritage and Chandigarh for Capitol Complex, Heritage Project. Tirupati and Indore were joint winners in the Sanitation category wherein Tirupati was awarded for Bioremediation & Bio-Mining and Indore was felicitated with Municipal Waste Management System.
