Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his monthly radio broadcast ‘Mann ki Baat’ on Sunday said digital transactions worth Rs 20,000 crore are now being done every day in the country and asserted that this is boosting facilities as well creating an environment of honesty. He further added that small online payments are playing a vital role in building a big digital economy and many new fintech start-ups are coming up.

He said, “Now digital transactions worth Rs 20,000 crore are taking place daily in our country. In March, UPI (Unified Payments Interface) transactions even reached Rs 10 lakh crore”
PM Modi urged people to share their experiences related to digital payments as it can be a source of inspiration for others in the country. In the same context, he said, “You must feel the convenience of UPI in everyday life. In the month of March, around Rs 10 lakh UPI transactions were done. This is more convenient and has encouraged an environment. Share your experiences relate to digital payment power and start-up ecosystem.”
