iPhone 15 Production Begins In Tamil Nadu

Chennai: A Foxconn Technology Group plant in Sriperumbudur is preparing to deliver the newest devices only weeks after they start shipping from factories in China.

Apple Inc.’s latest flagship, the iPhone 15, is all set to commence production in Tamil Nadu, in a strategic move to bridge the gap between its manufacturing operations in India and its main production hub in China.

A state-of-the-art facility managed by Foxconn Technology Group, situated in Sriperumbudur, is gearing up to swiftly deliver the newest iPhones mere weeks after their release from Chinese factories. This significant development aims to bolster the influx of cutting-edge iPhones originating from India, as part of Apple’s ongoing efforts to enhance its footprint in the country.

The production scale of the iPhone 15 in India will be determined by the availability of imported components and the efficient ramp-up of production lines at the Foxconn factory near Chennai. The success of the production depends on the seamless availability of components and the smooth functioning of the production lines at the Foxconn factory in Chennai.

The upcoming iPhone, expected to be unveiled on September 12th, is set to deliver the most significant enhancements to the device in the past three years. Notably, it will feature substantial upgrades to the camera system across the entire lineup, while the Pro models will benefit from an advanced 3-nanometer processor. The introduction of this new range of smartphones plays a crucial role in rejuvenating sales, making it a pivotal moment for the brand.

Apple, which commenced its first retail stores in India in April, now perceives the rapidly expanding Indian market as both a lucrative retail opportunity and a significant manufacturing hub for its electronic devices in the long run. In the quarter ending in June, Apple witnessed substantial double-digit growth in iPhone sales in India, reaching a new pinnacle, albeit without disclosing precise figures.

Apple remains fully committed to expanding its presence and making substantial investments throughout the country,’ affirmed Tim Cook, the Chief Executive Officer, following his rendezvous with Prime Minister Modi during his visit to India in April.
