SoBe Rolls Out 8th Batch of IICA Certified CSR Professional Programme

New Delhi: The School of Business and Environment (SoBE) of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) recently organized a virtual inauguration event for the 8th batch of the IICA Certified CSR Professional Programme.

The IICA Certified CSR Professional Programme is a nine-month online course designed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge, skills, and mindset to effectively plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate CSR projects and programmes.

The programme encompasses various facets of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), including the legal framework, policy guidelines, standards, best practices, reporting, communication, and stakeholder management. Additionally, the programme offers insights into diverse thematic areas such as education, healthcare, environmental preservation, livelihood development, gender equality, and disaster management.

The distinguished guest of the occasion, Dr. R.A. Mashelkar, delivered a captivating keynote speech on the topic of ‘Bharat at 75: The Role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)’. He eloquently expounded upon his vision of how CSR can profoundly impact the field of education, which he emphasized as the paramount equation in the global arena: E=F (Education equals Future).

Moreover, he shed light on the five vital agendas proposed by Mashelkar for the effective implementation of CSR: integration, innovation, inclusion, investment, and impact measurement. He highlighted the importance of ensuring equitable access to resources and opportunities for all segments of society, particularly those in rural and marginalized communities. Additionally, he emphasized the need to allocate corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds across different sectors and regions in a balanced manner and to harness technology for creating value and making a positive social impact.

He emphasized the importance for corporations to direct their CSR initiatives towards areas where they are genuinely needed, and to evaluate their impact using a combination of qualitative and quantitative measures. Wrapping up his speech, he urged everyone to envision Bharat at 75, rather than just India at 75.

Dr. Garima Dadhich from IICA delivered a compelling overview of the Certified CSR Professional Programme and emphasized the significance of nurturing CSR professionals in today’s dynamic age of responsibility. The discussion shed light on the importance of CSR in the current landscape and IICA’s dedication to building a skilled pool of CSR professionals who can contribute to the social and economic development of the nation.
