Tata Steel SEZ, AVAADA Group To Establish Green Hydrogen, Ammonia Manufacturing Unit: Odisha

Bhubaneshwar: Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Ltd (TSSEZL) and AVAADA Group have announced the signing of a deal to set-up green hydrogen and ammonia manufacturing business in Odisha. The manufacturing facility would be located at the Gopalpur Industrial Park on the Ganjam district of Odisha.

In a statement, AVAADA Group said that this is an initiative to establish a cutting-edge green hydrogen and ammonia manufacturing unit in Odisha. This substantial development follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL).

It is estimated that the project will create over 1,600 direct and 4,000 indirect job opportunities and will also reduce nearly 2 million tonnes of CO2 emissions yearly.

Speaking on this partnership, Vineet Mittal, Group Chairman of AVAADA Group said, ‘The collaboration is directed towards hastening the transition to green energy and bolstering India’s ambition to emerge as a global green hydrogen manufacturing hub. The agreement is a critical step in the development of our green ammonia business.’

The company is an integrated energy conglomerate with a diversified portfolio that includes everything from solar ingot production to green ammonia production.
