In a significant move to bolster the financial capacities of State Governments and support a range of social welfare measures and infrastructure development schemes during the upcoming festive season and the New Year, the Union Government has authorized the release of an additional installment of tax devolution amounting to ₹72,961.21 crore.
This supplementary release complements the regular tax devolution installment due to States on 10 January 2024 and an earlier installment of ₹72,961.21 crore that was already released on 11 December 2023. The Union Government’s decision underscores its commitment to facilitating the implementation of vital programs and initiatives at the state level.
