On January 17, Adani Enterprises Limited, the flagship company of the Adani Group, formalized a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government. The agreement entails the establishment of a 1 GW hyperscale data center infrastructure in the state, involving an investment of Rs 50,000 crore over the next 10 years.
The MoU was executed in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani during the World Economic Forum 2024 held at Davos.
The planned data center infrastructure, strategically located in key areas like Mumbai and Pune, will be powered by renewable energy sources. This initiative is anticipated to bolster green energy infrastructure in Maharashtra while generating direct and indirect employment opportunities for 20,000 individuals, as outlined in a press release from the Adani Group.
Additionally, the Adani Group expresses its intention to undertake deemed distribution investments to support the proposed 1 GW hyperscale data center infrastructure.
