In a step towards enhancing bilateral cooperation, the Government of India and the Government of Malaysia have signed the MoU focused on collaboration in the field of Public Administration and Governance Reforms. The MoU, effective for five years from August 20, 2024, was exchanged during a ceremonial function held at Hyderabad House, New Delhi, in the presence of India’s Prime Minister and Malaysia’s Prime Minister, His Excellency Dato’ Seri Anwar Bin Ibrahim.
The agreement aims to foster cooperation between the two nations in several key areas, including the provision of citizen-centric services through digital platforms, simplification and re-engineering of government processes, promotion of transparency and accountability in public service delivery, and the development of human resource management and leadership.
A Joint Working Group will be established to oversee the implementation of the initiatives outlined in the MoU. This partnership underscores the commitment of both countries to improving public sector management and adopting best practices in governance and digital government.
The collaboration is expected to significantly contribute to the ongoing efforts in both nations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of public administration, ultimately benefiting citizens through improved service delivery.
