To modernizing the Indian Coast Guard’s (ICG) digital infrastructure, Deputy Director General (Policy & Plans), Inspector General (IG) Anand Prakash Badola, laid the foundation stone for the Tier-III Data Centre of Project Digital Coast Guard (DCG) at Mahipalpur, New Delhi. The state-of-the-art facility will serve as the nerve center for the ICG’s digital operations, offering a robust platform to monitor, administer, and safeguard crucial IT resources across the organization.
Project DCG, spearheaded by Telecommunications Consultants India Limited, is an ambitious initiative aimed at bolstering the ICG’s technological capabilities. Beyond the New Delhi Data Centre, the project encompasses the establishment of a Disaster Recovery Data Centre in New Mangalore, Karnataka, ensuring reliable, resilient operations even in adverse scenarios. Additionally, it provides a comprehensive Pan-India connectivity framework that will link various ICG locations, including maritime vessels, with a streamlined Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to enhance administrative efficiency.
This Tier-III Data Centre is equipped with the latest technological advancements to support ICG’s strategic and operational requirements. By centralizing its IT resources, the ICG will be better equipped to respond to dynamic maritime challenges, providing a solid backbone for its critical operations and administrative functions.
