India, Japan Ink Pact for Semiconductor Development: Ashwini Vaishnaw

New Delhi: India and Japan have reached an agreement to enhance their semiconductor ecosystem, encompassing research and manufacturing, as announced by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The agreement was formalized in the capital city between Vaishnaw and Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yasutoshi Nishimura. Vaishnaw stated that the signing of the memorandum signifies the collaboration between Japan and India in semiconductor design, manufacturing, equipment research, talent development, and ensuring robustness in the semiconductor supply chain.

To facilitate this partnership, an implementation organization will be established to foster government- to-government and industry-to-industry cooperation, explained Vaishnaw.
