Max Healthcare, a leading private-sector hospital network in India, and the Tata Institute for Genetics and Society (TIGS), a premier genomics research institute, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a long-term collaboration aimed at leveraging genomic science to improve patient outcomes and accelerate clinical research.
Under the agreement, the two organisations will collaborate on:
-
Joint research projects in rare genetic diseases, neonatal genomics, and personalised medicine driven by genetic profiling.
-
Knowledge exchange via conferences, workshops and training programmes involving scientists, clinicians and researchers.
-
Utilising Max Healthcare’s clinical strength and patient data alongside TIGS’s genomic research capabilities to translate scientific insights into real-world healthcare applications.
This partnership with TIGS is a significant step forward in our commitment to bringing the latest advancements in medical sciences to our patients,” remarked Dr Sandeep Budhiraja, Group Medical Director at Max Healthcare.
By working closely with clinicians and patients at Max Healthcare, we can ensure that our research is relevant, impactful, and translates into tangible benefits for society,” said Dr Rakesh Mishra, Director of TIGS.
This collaboration marks an important development in Indian healthcare’s shift towards genomic-driven diagnostics and therapy, reinforcing the role of cross-institutional partnerships in creating a more personalised, research-enabled care ecosystem.
