An official announced on Monday that 4G mobile service will soon be available in about 2,800 villages in Odisha. As part of the center’s digital inclusion policy, a total of 2792 villages will be added to the nation’s 4g Network, with the biggest number—465—being in the Kandhamal District.

According to the official, the Union Cabinet approved it on July 27. To provide 4G mobile services in 24,680 villages in the nation’s remote and challenging terrain, the centre has set aside Rs 26,316 million.
The Universal Service Obligation budget will be used to finance the project, which will be carried out by BSNL. The project’s cost includes capital expenses as well as five years of express operation.
According to a statement, this project will encourage the supply of various e-governance services using mobile broadband, including financial services, telemedicine, and tele-education, among others, and create jobs in rural areas.
