The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Awadh Kishore Pandey for the post of Director (Technical/Projects & Planning) at Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), one of the leading subsidiaries of Coal India Limited.
Pandey was selected after a rigorous interview process involving nine candidates. The position is currently vacant, and his appointment will take effect subject to requisite clearances and final approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
He presently serves as General Manager & Area General Manager, Lakhanpur Area, at MCL, where he has been leading key operational, planning, and production initiatives.
Pandey’s elevation to the MCL Board is expected to strengthen the company’s technical leadership and project planning capabilities as it continues to expand mining operations, bolster planning frameworks, and support Coal India’s broader modernization and production targets.
