Kathmandu: An agreement has been signed between Purbanchal Cancer Hospital, Jhapa, Nepal, and Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital, New Delhi, India. This agreement entails the exchange of research, treatment, technology, and facilities for cancer treatment. The memorandum of understanding was signed by Dr. Birendra Yadav, Medical Director of Purbanchal Cancer Hospital, and Dr. Sudhir Kumar Rawal, Medical Director of Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center.
The main objective of this MoU is to foster support and exchange knowledge in various fields of medical science between these two advanced hospitals in South Asia. Ultimately, this partnership aims to enhance the reliability and accessibility of cancer treatment in Nepal.
Under the terms of the agreement, Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital will offer telemedicine services to patients undergoing treatment at Purbanchal Cancer Hospital. In addition, doctors at the hospital will receive training in robotic surgery. These advancements will ensure that Nepali patients no longer need to travel to India for reliable cancer treatment. Instead, they can now receive top-quality care in Nepal itself, thanks to the advanced treatment methods and equipment available at Purbanchal Cancer Hospital.
