To promote renewable energy and sustainable development, Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, inaugurated a 150-kilowatt Rooftop Solar Power Plant at the Geological Survey of India Training Institute (GSITI) in Hyderabad.
The new solar power facility, which will meet 75% of GSITI’s energy requirements, is expected to save the institute Rs 30 lakh annually. By reducing its reliance on conventional energy sources, the institute has taken a crucial step toward shrinking its carbon footprint and reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability.
During his address,G. Kishan Reddy praised GSITI’s efforts, noting that the project aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s broader vision of a cleaner and greener India. He stated that this initiative reflects our national commitment to energy efficiency, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development. Under Prime Ministe’s leadership, India is emerging as a global leader in climate action, with schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana empowering households to harness solar energy.
