The Prime Minister Gati Shakti National Master Plan portal will be made public by August 2022 thanks to the efforts of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
The goal of PM Gati Shakti is to increase logistical effectiveness by connecting public transportation, highways, ports, and waterways. The infrastructure plans of various ministries and state governments, including Bharatmala, Sagarmala, inland waterways, dry/land ports, and UDAN, have been merged into Gati Shakti.

The Gati Shakti portal was also at the centre of the Union Budget 2022, which laid out India’s objectives for the following years. These included building 25,000 km of new national highways, a new platform for unified logistics interfaces, an open source mobility stack, integrating the postal and rail networks, 400 energy-efficient Vande Bharat trains, and multimodal connectivity for urban transportation and transit systems.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MET) are reportedly finalising the requirements for launching the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan portal to the public (MeitY).
According to a research, the Gati Shakti project will reduce logistics expenses from their current level of 13% of the nation’s GDP to 8%, positively affecting the cost of necessities and consumer spending on non-logistics needs.
The project aims to support SMEs and entrepreneurs in the direct-to-consumer and e-commerce sectors in India.
