Anurag Garg Appointed as Director General of Narcotics Control Bureau

The government has appointed Anurag Garg (IPS: 1993: HP) as the new Director General (DG) of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Garg, who is currently serving as Additional DG in the Border Security Force (BSF), will hold the position until May 23, 2026, or until further orders.

The post of DG, NCB had been under an ad hoc arrangement since the retirement of Satya Narayan Pradhan (IPS: 1988: JH) on August 31, 2024. Since then, CRPF DG Anish Dayal Singh had been handling the additional charge of the NCB.
