Two Senior IPS Officers Appointed as Deputy Director Generals at Bureau of Civil Aviation Security

The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the appointment of Chandan Chowdhary and Rajendra Prasad Meena, both 2010 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officers from the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory) cadre, as Deputy Director Generals (DDG) in the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS).

The appointments, which have been made for a maximum period of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, were finalized following the concurrence of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, under which the BCAS functions.

Chandan Chowdhary and Rajendra Prasad Meena will now be entrusted with the crucial responsibility of overseeing the implementation of security standards and measures for civil aviation in India, covering both international and domestic airports. Their role will be critical in ensuring the safety and security of civil flights across the country, a mandate that BCAS rigorously upholds.
