Senior IAS officer V. Srinivas (IAS: 1989 batch) has taken charge as the 46th Chief Secretary of Rajasthan, following orders issued by the Department of Personnel (DoP) on Sunday. Srinivas, a highly respected civil servant, assumes office today and will serve in the role until his superannuation in September 2026.
In addition to his responsibilities as Chief Secretary, Srinivas has also been entrusted with additional charge as Chairman of Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Ltd and Principal Resident Commissioner, Government of Rajasthan, New Delhi.
Srinivas’s appointment has been widely welcomed across the state bureaucracy, with officials expressing confidence in his administrative acumen, integrity, and leadership abilities. Known for his clean image and strong governance record, he is regarded as a bureaucrat with both strategic vision and operational excellence.
With over 21 years of experience outside Rajasthan, Srinivas has served extensively in the Central Government and on international assignments. He has worked closely with Union Ministers in several key ministries, including Finance and External Affairs, contributing to major policy and administrative reforms.
His return to Rajasthan is expected to bring stability, efficiency, and a renewed focus on administrative reforms, as the state accelerates its development agenda.
