Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), India’s largest public sector steel producer and a Maharatna company, has signed an MoU with John Cockerill India Limited (JCIL), the Indian arm of the global John Cockerill Group. The agreement, signed in Mumbai by Anil Kumar Tulsiani, Director (Finance), SAIL, and Michael Kotas, Managing Director – Metals Division, John Cockerill India Limited, aims to harness the combined strengths of both companies in technological innovation and sustainable steel production.
The collaboration will primarily focus on Cold Rolling and Processing for Carbon Steel, as well as the development of Green Steel and specialized Silicon Steels, including Cold Rolled Grain Oriented (CRGO) and Cold Rolled Non-Oriented (CRNO) steels. By integrating advanced and green technologies into iron and steelmaking processes, the partnership seeks to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and reduce carbon emissions.
